Dontonio played football, basketball and ran track at Lake Dallas High School. He started three years on varsity in football (Running Back and Wide Receiver), basketball (Shooting Guard) and ran varsity track (100, 200, 4×1, 4×2) for four years. After high school, Dontonio committed to Stanford University to play Wide Receiver and continue both his academic and football career. After fighting through various injuries during his collegiate career, Dontonio became especially interested in body mechanics and injury prevention. He began to put various philosophies into action that helped him become a healthier more functional athlete. After graduating from Stanford, Dontonio attended San Jose State University where he completed his masters in Kinesiology and Sport Management.
Since graduating, Dontonio has become a certified National Sports Performance Association (NSPA) Speed and Agility Coach. He now runs a family owned non profit sports organization in which he trains track and football athletes, helps them realize their full potential and ultimately gets them to college to compete in sports and get a collegiate education. Dontonio has trained and coached nationally ranked youth/high school track athletes and football players while also helping over 30 athletes receive collegiate scholarships.
